Christchurch is the main city of the Canterbury region, in the South Island of New Zealand.
Canterbury Museum is on Rolleston Avenue at the end of Worcester Boulevard by the Botanic Gardens, just over 500 metres from Cathedral Square.

Hours and admission

Canterbury Museum is open every day (except Christmas Day) Summer hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm (October – March) Winter hours: 9.00 am – 5.00 pm (April – September)
Documentary Research Centre: open 1.00 pm to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday
General admission to the Museum is free, donations are appreciated. Discovery entry is $2.00 per person, free entry for children under three.
