Film Screening: The Grand Budapest Hotel

Join us for a movie night! We're excited to host a one-night-only screening of Wes Anderson's iconic comedy-drama 'The Grand Budapest Hotel'.

Grand Budapest HotelA madcap adventure, expertly woven in with themes of nostalgia, friendship and Anderson's signature colour palette, 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' is one of the inspirations for Heather Straka's immersive installation Isolation Hotel, on now at the Museum.

Duration: 1 hour 39 minutes. Seating supplied, but feel free to bring a cushion. The Museum doors open at 7.00 pm and the film will commence at 7.30 pm.

The film is rated M, for mature audiences 16 years of age and over.

Attendance is by koha (donation) but seating is limited, so please register below if you are keen to come along.


We want to ensure visitors and our staff can enjoy the event safely. Please note the following conditions of entry:

PASS: You’ll need to present your My Vaccine Pass to staff to enter the Museum.

SCAN: Please ensure you scan in using the NZ COVID Tracer app, or sign in using the paper register, when you arrive.

MASK: Masks are mandatory when entering the Museum and using the bathrooms. We encourage you to wear a mask throughout the screening.

Please also note that no food and drinks are permitted in the Museum.
