Frances has a background in Fine Arts and has worked at the Museum for several years in various roles.
She has a special interest in the incorporation of heritage into existing emergency management frameworks and risk management within Museums.
Frances’ current research interests are the Canterbury artist Margaret Olrog Stoddart, botanical illustration, the connections between Canterbury Museum and some of New Zealand’s most well-known artists, Māori rock art, innovation and invention in Canterbury, including jetpack development, and handwritten recipe books as family heirlooms.
Frances is currently working with Otago Museum and the Ngāi Tahu Māori Rock Art Trust developing a collaborative exhibition about Māori rock art.
