Join artists Lissy and Rudi Robinson-Cole and choreographer Tiaki Kerei for a kōrero on the creation of Just to Have You Adore Me, the dance film woven into the heart of Wharenui Harikoa.

Together, they will discuss the film’s development, the movement storytelling that brings the film to life, and the deeper narratives of connection, devotion, and aroha embedded in this contemporary dance work.
Artists Lissy and Rudi Robinson-Cole spent three years creating Wharenui Harikoa, which translates to ‘House of Joy’. Made from 5000 balls of brightly-coloured yarn and crocheted by hand, this full size wharenui (Māori meeting house) is a vivid fusion of traditional whakairo (carving) patterns and neon wool.
Lissy and Rudi collaborated with choreographer Tiaki Kerei to capture the wharenui through the medium of film and contemporary choreography.
Wharenui Harikoa is on now at the Canterbury Museum Pop-Up, 66 Gloucester Street.
