Natural history researcher access

Discover how Canterbury Museum's incredible natural history collection is used for research into everything from bird feathers to snail teeth.

This talk by Canterbury Museum Associate Curator Natural History Johnathon Ridden will showcase how the Museum provides access to our collections. The Friends of Canterbury Museum talk on 20 August will explain how researchers access the collection of butterflies, fossils, fish and minerals to learn more about the world.

A range of external research requests and projects will be highlighted, emphasising the importance of our collections to the research community.
