Photos: Decanting Discovery

The Museum's redevelopment is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and it's awesome to be part of it.

As well as packing some of the 2.3 million objects in the collection, I've also been visually documenting the process.

Above are some of photos taken of the pack-down of Discovery, our children's natural history area.

Discovery opened in 1995 and has been virtually unchanged for 27 years. Even the entry price – $2 per person – has stayed the same! As we dismantled the exhibits, we were very conscious of all the memories that have been made there over the years.

Discovery will return with more space and heaps of new activities in the new Museum, so we can look forward to new generations of kids making memories there too.
